July 16-18, 2013Advancing UbD: Leadership and Capacity Building in UbD
Led by Grant Wiggins, Advancing UbD has long been our most popular workshop. And why not? It provides intensive training for experienced UbD users charged with leading curriculum reform and advancing UbD in their department, school, or district. In this interactive hands-on workshop, grounded in Schooling by Design, you'll explore effective training practices; consider and role-play likely points of opportunity, challenge, and resistance; and leave with a draft plan to advance UbD in your community. Special attention will be given to effective integration of UbD and Common Core Standards. Sign up now: space is limited and typically goes quickly.

July 23-24, 2013Essential Questions: A 2-Day Workshop
Based on Grant and Jay's new book, Essential Questions, to be released in April 2013, this workshop explores the full power of essential questions through the three stages of the UbD template. What are Essential Questions? How do we develop and refine them? What's their role in assessment? What's their role in engaging students? What is appropriate vs. inappropriate use of EQs? And how do we best design learning experiences to harness their full power to engage learners and focus learning?
