Feedback Workshop
Our Summer Institutes are designed for teachers and educational leaders eager to begin or extend their understanding of UbD. These interactive workshops will immerse you in the elements of UbD, the design process, and strategies for moving the work forward in your classroom, school, or district.

  • July 11-13: UbD Users' Conference - the Inn at Lambertville Station
    Savvy teachers and administrators from around the world will share their experiences and learn from each other at our annual gathering of the greater UbD community. $799

    Day 1: What's New with UbD?
    Explore new additions and improvement to Understanding by Design, including the new Stages 4, 5, and 6, which explore issues of supervision, self-assessment, and peer review through a UbD lens.
    Days 2 & 3: Advancing UbD Locally
    Hear and discuss strategies for local UbD advancement from Dr. Grant Wiggins as well as a number of experienced UbD educators, administrators, and consultants.
  • July 17-19: UbD: Train the Trainers - the Inn at Lambertville Station
    Led by Dr. Grant Wiggins, Train the Trainers provides advanced training for experienced UbD users in leading curriculum reform and introducing UbD to their department, school, or district. Attendees will discuss and consider methods of developing and communicating UbD and also anticipate and strategize solutions to faculty resistance to change and reform. $799

  • July 25: UbD & Technology - the Inn at Lambertville Station
    Learn how to plan technology integration meaningfully. This workshop is designed to help teachers and administrators write or revise UbD units to explicitly include tools and skills that support information literacy. This session is BYOL (bring your own laptop). $249

  • July 26-27: UbD: Designing from the Standards - the Inn at Lambertville Station
    Led by Dr. Grant Wiggins, this workshop is intended for those seeking to create high-quality units that integrate either the new Common Core standards or particular school or state standards.
    Attendees will learn to unpack standards and uncover what students must know, understand, and be able to do in order to create first-rate units and assessments. $599
