Online Courses in Understanding by Design

Authentic Education online education offers interactive, multimedia, self-paced courses for teachers and educational leaders. Created and taught by Grant Wiggins, co-author of Understanding by Design, each module, in each course, contains:

an audio overview of the module
video commentary by Grant Wiggins and detailed text on all key design issues and concepts
detailed text and an in-depth talk, with slides, on each design element
downloadable exercises and readings
self-tests of the key concepts, with immediate feedback
access to a journal, a blogging space, and a group discussion board

We are currently offering online courses in Introductory Ubd, Comprehensive UbD, and a focus course on Essential Questions.

In addition, we often maintain project courses for ongoing projects we are involved in (such as the New Jersey High School Redesign Consortium).
