 Jennifer Eddy

Jennifer Eddy is Assistant Professor of World Language Education in the Secondary Education department at Queens College, CUNY. She has been a language educator for 22 years as Spanish teacher, program coordinator, and curriculum and assessment instructor to pre and in-service teachers of all languages. She supports teachers and administrators in NYC and is consultant to other school districts and states on performance-based curriculum and assessment design for transfer, using her protocol aligning Backward Design with the National Standards (5Cs).

Dr. Eddy is author of Sonidos, Sabores, Y Palabras (ThomsonHeinle), a text using songs and lyrics as authentic material for performance assessment, articles on the arts and language learning, and a book chapter for the People's University Press of Beijing. She is frequent presenter at local, regional, and national conferences, is editor of the Journal of the New York State Association of Foreign Language Teachers, President of the National Association of District Supervisors of Foreign Languages, and was Team Leader for STARTALK, an NSLI project providing student and teacher programs across the country in critical languages.
