 Jessica Rabba

Jessica Raba is a consultant for Authentic Education currently assigned to the iZone project in New York City, where she focuses on fostering and developing Competency-Based Learning and Assessment. In the past, Jessica taught middle school English and social studies in parochial and public charter settings in the New York area, and most recently worked in school-based staff development, where she coached middle and high school teachers in curriculum development through Understanding by Design®. In addition, she coordinated the school's professional development practices and functioned as instructional coach for teachers in all content areas.

Jessica has facilitated sessions about staff development practices at ASCD and Learning Forward (formerly National Staff Development Council) summer conferences. Jessica holds a B.S.Ed. in Elementary Education from Valparaiso University, where she also received Endorsements in Learning Disabilities and Reading, and an M.S.Ed. in Literacy Education from Fordham University.

A constant learner, Jessica believes in the power of purposeful and authentic student transfer to transform students' school experiences, and continually seeks opportunities to share with and learn from educators willing to explore and grapple with the design of such valuable learning.
