 Kathleen Zeiss

Kathleen (Cathy) Zeiss was a classroom teacher in social studies at the middle- and high-school levels for twenty-three years and a Staff Development Specialist for fourteen years, in the Neshaminy School District in Pennsylvania. During this time, she was an active team-teaching member and advocate as she planned and facilitated the new teacher introduction and mentor programs. An essential guiding principle in her journey as an educator is that if, as educators, we want our students to be life-long learners, then we must be committed to our own professional growth as well. As a believer that "if you not part of the solution, you are part of the problem," Kathleen participated in every curriculum restructuring effort at the school and district level. She was co-facilitator of her district's K-12 Curriculum Restructuring Team and facilitator of the original Curriculum and Instruction Action Plan Task Force for Strategic Planning. In addition, she has taught methodology courses at the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education and at Wilkes University. Kathleen holds a BA and M. Ed from Pennsylvania State University.
